Canadian Woodworks Limited in Prince George, British Columbia, had the same problem as
Golden Duck
. The companys forklift battery was only lasting 15 minutes at a time. The 36-volt battery was several years old and had deteriorated so much that it could power the forklift for no more than a quarter of an hour before it needed recharging. So management turned to a battery representative for advice. After inspecting the battery, his only suggestion was to replace it; at a cost of $8,000 Canadian ($5,600 U.S.)!
Before paying that amount, a more cost-efficient alternative was sought. Thats when they installed the 36-Volt PowerPulse. The batterys problem was that sulfation buildup was blocking the flow of energy during the recharging process, so it couldnt accept a charge. After only 22 days, PowerPulse brought the battery back to 75% of its original capacity. This means it was able to power the forklift for almost the same amount of time as when it was brand new.
When the battery was put back in the forklift, it began lasting a full shift. Management fully expects that by continuing to use the PowerPulse, it will be improved to full capacity.
