AMSOIL Synthetic Open Gear and Wire Rope Compound (OGC) is based on novel, proprietary technology resulting in a lubricant that does not use asphaltic materials, residual compounded oils or solvents as diluents. Typical gear compounds are composed of asphaltic and residual oils cut back with solvent to ease application and use. Synthetic OGC does not require solvents to assist the product in application and use, even in cold weather. OGC meets the AGMA specifications 14R for open gear lubricants. AMSOIL OGC provides excellent adhesion to surfaces, resistance to water washout and protection against rust, corrosion and wear. OGC virtually eliminates common deficiencies of residual oils and asphaltic compounds such as narrow operating temperature range, flaking, poor adhesion, water washout and environmental concerns. |

| APPLICATION RECOMMENDATION |
|
AMSOIL OGC may be applied by any method including automatic dispensing, brush, drip feeder, hand and swabbing. Typical applications of OGC include open gears, wire ropes, chains, flexible couplings, sliding surfaces of drag lines and shovels, construction equipment, dredging equipment or any application where a heavy, tenacious lubricant is required. Apply an adequate amount of OGC, ensuring good lubrication and thorough coverage of all mating surfaces. Relubrication intervals are based on environmental conditions and use. Manufacturer’s recommendations and observation of surface conditions will help establish correct amounts and lubrication intervals. |
| WIDE OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE |
|
Because of the inherent cold-temperature properties of synthetic base materials, AMSOIL OGC stays fluid at cold temperatures. This dramatically eases application and allows the product to protect surfaces, where residual compounded oils and solvent-cut asphaltic products may not. In cold temperature applications, residual compounded or asphaltic products will typically flake off, leaving the surfaces unprotected against wear and weather, causing the relubrication interval to increase. AMSOIL Synthetic OGC does not flake off in cold temperatures, but stays in place to provide long-lasting lubrication protection. In warm weather, asphaltic materials will likely become very soft and their film strength will be reduced, allowing wear. OGC, a heavy and tacky lubricant, stays in place during warm operation, providing heavy load carrying and extreme pressure performance, thus protecting surfaces and reducing the need for frequent relubrication. |
| ADHESION TO METAL |
| AMSOIL OGC, with its synthetic base materials and highly polar nature, provides excellent adhesion to metal surfaces even in hostile environments. This is a tremendous advantage since compounded oils and solvent-cut asphaltic materials' adhesion are readily affected by the cleanliness of the metal surface. The ability of OGC to adhere to surfaces under a variety of conditions means greater protection and less maintenance. |

| AMSOIL Industrial Lubricants are formulated to meet or exceed accepted industry specifications. AMSOIL warrants that the use of its lubricants will not cause mechanical damage to any mechanically sound equipment when AMSOIL products are used in full compliance with the company’s recommendations. However, the purchaser of these lubricants is responsible for determining if these specifications are adequate and proper for the intended application. The AMSOIL warranty is limited to lubricant performance consistent with indicated specifications. No additional warranty, expressed or implied, can be made. |

AMSOIL Industrial Lubricants are stocked in Superior, Wisconsin and in select regional distribution centers throughout the United States and Canada. AMSOIL will stock additional quantities of lubricants or special order products based on customer requests and regional demands. |
