"It is obvious to me from my experience with AMSOIL and with other lubricants, that AMSOIL gives by far the best results under high-stress racing conditions.
Also, AMSOIL is the only engine oil that I know of that has a rust inhibitor. With marine engines, this is very important because outboard motors produce a lot of condensation. If you dont have a rust inhibitor in your engine oil, the rust will cause roller bearings in the engine to slide, rather than roll. When this happens, the roller bearings will break.
With AMSOIL in an outboard engine, you can safely use, and even race, an engine that has been shut down, even if it has been shut down for months. And you don't have to worry about engine failure due to rust buildup in storage.
"Other synthetics will help an engine stay clean, but they don't give the same protection as AMSOIL.. Engines using other synthetics wore out at the same rate as engines using non-synthetics. But AMSOIL helped these engines last much longer, and, as I said, prevented total engine failure when a racing engine did fail (saving $800-900 in repairs)."
