Mack Trucks Hits The Road With PulseTech
When you’re one of the largest truck manufacturers in the world, you understand what it takes to remain competitive in an extremely competitive industry. Two key factors are product innovation and customer satisfaction. And this is why Mack Trucks Inc. is adding PulseTech battery maintenance products to their product line.

"Not only are PulseTech battery maintenance products innovative," states John Holdos, Mack Product Manager/Parts Marketing, "but their ability to keep truck batteries performing at peak efficiency keeps our customers very happy." John explains that customer satisfaction is an integral part of Mack's philosophy. Yet, its customer service program is based on more than just providing high quality trucks. Basically, Mack will do whatever it takes to keep its customers moving. "It’s our belief in customer satisfaction that has helped us get where we are today," says John. "We believe our customers should be focusing on taking care of their business -not their trucks.

Today Mack is responsible for 12% of all truck sales in the U.S. It dominates the construction and refuse segments of the North American market, with its over-the-road trucks representing over 50% of all Mack sales. One reason for Mack’s growth is that it is one of the few manufacturers that offers a complete truck system (engines, transmissions and axles) all designed to work in perfect harmony. This enables Mack customers to gain maximum vehicle performance and substantial long-term maintenance and operating savings.

Now, with PulseTech and its pulse technology products, batteries will perform at peak efficiency, and battery life will be extended. Mack has already shipped products to its product distribution centers, including the Solargizer Battery Maintenance Systems, the Solargizer Solar Charger, The Connector™ and the Battery Mat™. So these are now available at Mack's 595 parts and service outlets across the country.

Not only will these patented products prevent dead batteries, but they also enable batteries to perform at peak efficiency. This means batteries will provide whatever power a truck needs, no matter how many electronic systems are used in the cab and sleeper. This includes GPS systems, radios, heaters and other systems that normally drain batteries dry.

"We make some of the finest, most reliable trucks in the world," states John. "But, we realize that no matter how good the truck is, if the battery dies it isn’t going anywhere. So when we learned about PulseTech, we were very excited."

As part of the product launch, Scott Schilling, National Sales and Marketing Manager for PulseTech, will give a live product demonstration on the August 20, 1996 edition of Mack’s "Know Your Products" broadcast, which is available to every Mack dealership via satellite. "Obviously, we’re very excited about working with Mack Trucks," says Scott. "Their being the first major truck OEM to introduce these products shows that Mack is truly a leader in the industry. And with the performance and sales potential of our products, the opportunities for Mack are enormous."
